民政党走访增江南区菜市场,派送年柑拜早年

（1月25日）民政党峇都区部同人今早走访了增江南区菜市场，派送年柑给峇都区的居民们，向大家拜个早年。与往年不同的是，民政党峇都区部也派送特制限量版红包封、新年明信片和1个马来西亚徽章给居民们，并预祝他们农历新年快乐。

      峇都区民政党服务中心协调员刘华才博士指出，居民们反应热烈，踊跃参与，总共派出了200箱的年柑。随同民政党峇都区部同人的还有国阵其他成员党如巫统、马华和国大党，大家不分种族、不分宗教、一起向华裔同胞拜年。

"这凸现了马来西亚独特的文化色彩，正如首相纳吉所提倡的彼此妥协、彼此接纳到彼此庆祝，大家不分种族，不分文化，各种族和谐共处，共同欢庆各种族节日。"刘华才补充。

刘华才博士也补充，民政党将持续服务峇都国会选区的居民，解决他们的民生问题和提高生活的素质。

民青团欢迎设贫穷学生基金,冀予以弱势学生更多机会

（1月24日）民青团总秘书刘华才博士赞赏最近由高等教育基金局主席拿督依斯迈莫哈默赛所宣布为贫困及弱势学生所提供的两千万令吉一个马来西亚贫困学生基金，并形容该举措为一项有意义的举措。

"高等教育基金局的这项举措是很好的，因为我们的社会中还有很多学生没有经济能力入读高等教育。政府在发展国家的同时，也有责任确保这不幸的一群不被边缘化。"

然而，刘华才博士欲知晓此基金的援助是以贷款、奖学金或助学金的形式颁发。因此，他希望有关本基金详细情形可于近期公布。

"这再次反映了教育是我国政府的首要关注事项，特别是教育部在政府的年度预算中是获得最大比例分配的。"

同时也是思特雅国际大学副教授的刘华才博士也询问有关获得该基金的标准和条件，因为无可否认地这两千万令吉的基金数额并不是一个庞大的数目。

"我认为政府应该拨出更多的资金以协助这群学生，特别是属于伤残人士的学生，因为毕竟他们在学习期间需支付更高的生活费用。而当他们毕业后，在偿还上也应作更大的灵活性调整，因为他们通常需要更多的时间才可成功找到工作。"

最后，他再次表示感激，并指出这是一项很好的举措，以确保全体马来西亚人民能够在教育上获得平等的机会。

Gerakan Youth Secretary General, Dr Dominic Lau Hoe Chai praised the recent proposal of PTPTN to provide RM 20 million in the 1Malaysia Poor Students Fund (BPM1M) for poor and underprivileged studentsannounced by PTPTN Chairman Datuk Ismail Mohamed Said as a noble move.  

"This is a pleasant move by PTPTN as there are still many students that do not have the capability to afford a tertiary education. It is the government's job to ensure that this unfortunate group are not marginalised while developing the country."  

Dr Dominic Lau however would like to know that whether this assistance will be in the form of a loan, scholarship or grant since the announcement was made. Therefore he hoped that details regarding this fund will be announced soon.  

"This is another reflection that education is the government's top priority since the Ministry of Education received a large percentage in the government's yearly budget allocation."

Dr Dominic, also UCSI associate professor further questioned the criteria and condition to be eligible for the fund since it is an undeniable fact that RM 20 million is not a large amount.  

"I also think that more money has to be provided to this group of students especially the handicapped ones since they would require more to pay for their living expenses during studying. Upon graduation, more flexibility should be given regarding repayment if it is one of the requirements since they usually need more time to secure a job."

He finally expressed his gratitude once more stating that this is a good step to ensure all Malaysians received equal opportunity in education.

民青团抨击土权“焚烧马来版圣经”言论,刘华才促唾弃玩弄宗教课题政客

（1月23日）针对近日频频传出的一些有心人士玩弄宗教课题而引发种族之间的不安情绪，民青团总秘书刘华才博士今日发表文告深表遗憾与强烈不满。

"我认为宗教课题有必要由相关宗教团体或单位作出诠释和表明立场，不应该由政治人物或不负责任的政客来发表各自的言论，让事态越演越烈，变本加厉，导致影响我国社会各族间和谐共处的情况。"

刘华才也同时抨击土权主席依布拉欣阿里所发表的"焚烧马来版圣经"言论。并表示民青团对于依布拉欣阿里这种不负责任的言论与行为感到极度愤怒与不满，这明显在破坏我国多年来所艰辛建立起来的种族和谐与融洽。

"我呼吁选民在来届大选唾弃这些不负责任的政治人物，以选票对他们表示抗议。他们这种煽动种族不安情绪的行为，根本不符合成为人民可托付的代议士。"

他也同时表示人民应该好好把握手中的一票，在即将来临的全国大选，选出可以被委托的人民代议士，拒绝让这些爱发表煽动性言论的不负责任人物当选。

Recently there are rumours about some unscrupulous people play up religious issues in order to create uneasiness among the races, Gerakan Youth Secretary General Dr. Dominic Lau is deeply regretted and expressed his strong dissatisfaction in a statement issued today.

"I think religious topics are best interpreted and explained by religious organisations, it should not be freely debated by political figures or any irresponsible politicians, further intensifying the situation and affecting the racial harmony within our society."

Dr. Dominic Lau also rapped Perkasa Chairman Ibrahim Ali for uttering the remarks of "burning the Malay bible." He also commented that Gerakan Youth is furious and strongly dissatisfied over his irresponsible remarks and erratic behaviour. Obviously, it is undermining the country's racial harmony that we have built for years.

"I urge the voters to spurn this kind of irresponsible politicians, to express their outcry through the ballot box in the coming general elections. Their actions in instigating the uneasiness between the races simply do not qualify them as the representatives that the people can entrust upon.

At the same time, he also said that the people should make good use of the ballot in their hands, to cast their votes for the candidates that are trustworthy and stop allowing this kind of irresponsible politicians who always utter seditious remarks from being elected.

民政党峇都区水塘路派发援助金,帮助居民减轻经济负担

民政党峇都区部同人上周六走访了水塘路，举办了一场派发援助金活动，派发500零吉的援助金给当地长期饱受水灾困扰的居民们，以减轻他们生活上的经济负担，也趁着春节即将来临，让这笔援助金帮补他们庆祝春节之需。 总共有93位水塘路居民在这场活动中受惠。

参与活动的峇都区民政党服务中心协调员刘华才博士指出，水塘路居民长年遭受水灾困扰，单是去年就发生了3次的大水灾，让当地居民损失惨重，大大加重经济负担。而民政党峇都区视乎居民的需要，特地向副首相提出水塘路居民的困境，并申请要求额外拨款，来帮助水塘路的居民，就此安排了这场派发援助金活动，为水塘路居民们献上爱心关怀。         

                "通常政府的额外拨款只限于帮助那些遭水灾影响而被迫搬离家园的居民，但这次我们把援助金派发给所有凡是曾遭水灾影响的居民。居民们在获得该笔援助金之后都非常高兴，也对民政党峇都区的诚心协助表示感激，并也让我们可以看到居民们对国阵政府重拾信心"刘华才表示。

                另外，民政党也感谢吉隆坡市政局的协助，完成安排水塘路木屋区居民搬迁到政府人民组屋，以让路给建立防洪堤工程。我们也感谢木屋区居民给予全力配合和合作，以便让防洪堤工程可以尽快竣工，一劳永逸的解决水塘路的水灾问题。

(1月17日）民政党峇都区部同人走访了怡保路4英里，巡视吉隆坡市政局在当地进行的大树修剪和砍伐工作，整个修砍工作进行得非常顺利，令居民们终于可以安心迎接即将到来的农历新年。        

  刘华才博士指出，他们是在早前接到当地居民的投诉，指该区的多棵大树多年来没有修砍，大树越长越高，枝干摇摇欲坠，尤其是住在大树附近的木屋区居民，更为担心。居民们已经多次向吉隆坡市政局反映，但迟迟未有行动。因此他们寻求民政党峇都区部的协助，希望能够获得协助与吉隆坡市政局进行交涉和协调。

"在民政党峇都区部的跟进下，吉隆坡市政局如期完成大树修剪和砍伐工作，居民们也感激民政党峇都区部在这方面的协助。"刘华才补充。

            Members of Gerakan Batu Division have visited Batu 4 Jalan Ipoh to inspect the pruning and cutting works on big trees that were carried out by the DBKL, the entire works went smoothly and the residents can finally greet the upcoming Chinese New Year at ease.

            Dr. Dominic Lau Hoe Chai pointed out that they have received complaints from the local residents in the earlier saying that some of the big trees have not been pruned for years, those trees have overgrown and their trunks were in danger of collapsing, especially for the residents that live in a squatter area that is close to those big trees, they were more concerned. The residents have repeatedly reflected the problem to the DBKL, however no action was taken. Therefore, they sought the help from Gerakan Batu Division as they hoped for assistance to make representation and collaborate with the DBKL.

            "Under the follow-up by Gerakan Batu Division, DBKL completed the tree pruning and cutting works, the residents were grateful towards Gerakan Batu Division for being helpful on this matter," added Dr. Dominic Lau.

            Dr. Dominic Lau also added that Gerakan will continue to serve the residents of Batu parliamentary constituency, solve their livelihood problems and improve the environmental quality of the neighbourhood.

怡保路5英里沟渠阻塞逢雨必淹,峇都民政党允安排隆市政局寻对策

前日（1月14日）民政党峇都区部同人在峇都区民政党服务中心协调员刘华才博士的率领下，偕同吉隆坡市政局官员，走访了怡保路5英里，巡视当地的沟渠阻塞问题，以便寻找对策解决当地逢雨必淹的问题。          

                刘华才博士指出，他接到当地居民的投诉，指当地一条通往附近河流的沟渠长期阻塞，没获清理，导致每逢下豪雨，当地就开始淹水而引发水灾，并对当地的居民造成困扰。 在接到投报后，民政党峇都区部立即联络了吉隆坡市政局，并安排前往视察现况。

"经过前日的走访，吉隆坡市政局同意将尽快展开沟渠清理工作，除此之外，吉隆坡市政局也将另开一条新的沟渠通往附近河流，以便能更有效舒缓每逢下雨产生的流水量，一劳永逸的解决逢雨必淹的问题。"刘华才补充。

            Members of Gerakan Batu Division led by Batu Gerakan Service Centre Coordinator Dr. Dominic Lau Hoe Chai along with DBKL officers have visited Batu 5 Jalan Ipoh on 14 January in order to inspect the problem of a clogged ditch in the local and look for a solution to resolve the flooding problem whenever it rains in the local.

            Dr. Dominic Lau pointed out that he received complaints from the local residents saying that a ditch that is leading to the nearby river is clogged since long ago and there was no cleanup all the while, it leads to the flooding problem whenever there is a heavy rain in the local and it is plaguing the local residents. As soon as the complaints were received, Gerakan Batu Division has immediately contacted the DBKL and made arrangement for an inspection to access the local situation.

            "After the visit, the DBKL has agreed to carry out the cleanup works as soon as possible. Besides, the DBKL will also open up a new ditch that leads to the nearby river, so that whenever it is raining, the rainfall can be effectively channelled out," added Dr. Dominic Lau.

            Dr. Dominic Lau also added that Gerakan would continue to serve the residents of Batu parliamentary constituency, solve their livelihood problems and environmental issues.

峇都民政党安排居民与警方对话会 ,逐一解决冼都新镇治安问题

民政党峇都区部于上周日（1月13日）在冼都新镇菜市场，连同当地的居民协会安排了一场居民和警方的对话会，以便了解目前冼都新镇居民所面对的治安问题。民政党峇都区部也在对话会进行的前几天，特地走访冼都新镇菜市场一带，促请商家们踊跃出席这场对话会。          

                参与活动的峇都区民政党服务中心协调员刘华才博士指出，举办这场对话会的目的是基于民政党峇都区部长期收到该区居民的投诉，指当地的罪案屡增、治安问题亮起红灯。对话会获得当地商家和居民们的踊跃参与，当中他们就向警方反映了多项当地治安问题，包括24小时便利店遭抢劫、卖水机遭破坏偷取硬币、轻快铁站掠夺案频传、学生旷课和非法售卖香烟、醉酒闹事等等问题。

"通过这场对话会，我们集合了居民的投诉和意见，而警方也针对每一项问题做出了解释和解决方案。当中警方就表示居民提出的多宗罪案都已经破案，也奉劝24小时便利店提高警惕，做好防备措施。至于学生旷课和非法售卖香烟，警方只能在校方、家教协会代表和吉隆坡市政局官员的陪同下，才能逮捕有关涉嫌犯罪的学生。而那些醉酒人士也须是在闹事而影响他人的情况下，警方才能对他们采取逮捕行动。"刘华才说。

"其实，我们发现很多时候警方都不太了解人民真正的需要，而人民也不晓得警方的各种权限。通过这样的对话会，才能真正让人民与警方直接进行接触与沟通，针对每一项人民面对的问题对症下药，以达到更显著的效果。当警方问起居民们是否知道冼都警局的电话时，大部分的居民都不晓得。对此，警方劝请当地居民记下冼都警局的直接联络号码是03-62590093，或在面对任何紧急时发短讯给警察之友Rakan Cop热线32728，以让警方可以及时采取行动。"刘华才补充。

除此之外，国阵政府也将在近期在冼都斯里霹雳区建立新的警亭，加强当地的巡逻，维护治安。另外，政府也将在冼都一带建立一所城市转型中心，综合多个官方部门，以方便冼都的居民处理官方的手续。这一切都是国阵政府为峇都区发展所做的努力，民政党也期盼来届大选能获得峇都区人民的委托，持续服务峇都国会选区的居民，解决他们的生活起居问题，并提高他们的生活素质。

            Last Sunday (13 January), Gerakan Batu Division visited the Bandar Baru Sentul market and together with the local residents they held a dialogue between the residents and police in order to find out the security issues that the residents in Bandar Baru Sentul are facing. A few days before the dialogue took place, Gerakan Batu Division also specially went for a visit to the nearby area in Bandar Baru Sentul market and urged the business owners to attend the dialogue actively.

            Batu Gerakan Service Centre Coordinator Dr. Dominic Lau Hoe Chai pointed out that the objective to hold the dialogue is because Gerakan Batu Division has been constantly receiving complaints from the residents living in the area saying that local crime has increased and the security is alarming. The dialogue was well received by the local business owners and residents, they have reflected many security issues in the local area to the police during the dialogue, including 24-hour convenience store was robbed, drinking water dispenser was vandalised in order to steal the coins, snatch theft in LRT station was commonly heard, truancy and illegal selling of cigarettes, drunken brawl and many more problems.

            "Through this dialogue, we have gathered the complaints and opinions of the residents, while the police have offered explanations and solutions for each question. During the dialogue, the police have clarified that most of the cases have been successfully solved and they also advised the 24-hour convenience store to stay alert and prepare for the safety precautions. As for the truancy among the students and illegal sales of cigarettes, the police can only arrest the students involved with the companion of school and PIBG representatives as well as DBKL officers. As for the drunken people, the police can only take action under the situation where they are causing trouble to other people," said Dr. Dominic Lau.

"In fact, we found that most of the time the police do not understand what the people really need, while the people also have no idea about the purview of the police. Only by organising such a dialogue, the people and the police can directly interact and communicate with each other to solve each problem and achieve significant results. When the police asked whether the residents know about the phone number of the Sentul police station, most of them did not have a clue about it. As a response, the police advised the local residents to jot down the direct contact number of the Sentul police station which is 03-62590093, or SMS to Rakan Cop hotline 32728 in any exigency so that the police can take immediate action," added Dr. Dominic Lau.

            Apart from this, Barisan Nasional government will also establish a new police kiosk in Sentul's Sri Perak area in the near future, to step up the local patrol and maintain law and order. Besides, the government will also build an Urban Transform Centre (UTC) that integrates a few government departments in order to facilitate the Sentul residents in dealing with official procedures. All of these are the efforts made by the Barisan Nasional government on the development of Batu area, Gerakan hopes that the party will be entrusted by the people in the upcoming general election, continue to serve the residents of Batu parliamentary constituency, solve their livelihood problems and improve their quality of life.

斯里吉兰丹人民组屋烧毁单位仍未清理,刘华才质疑隆市政局工作效率

冼都斯里吉兰丹人民组屋B座一单位于去年圣诞节当天遭火神光顾，导致一户印裔家庭丧失家园。而在民政峇都区的跟进下，有关家庭已经搬入同一座组屋的另一个单位，但吉隆坡市政局却至今仍未清理有关单位，影响了邻近单位的起居生活。

峇都区民政党服务中心协调员刘华才博士指出，邻近单位的居民投诉指屋主饲养的两只猫在火灾中被烧死，但尸体仍在废墟中，引来阵阵臭味，难以忍受。不仅如此，烧尽的废墟也引来许多苍蝇，卫生情况欠佳。在夜晚时分甚至有人来到有关单位，偷取烧剩的铁支，以拿去变卖。

"在接获居民的投诉及亲自到场巡视后，我们即刻联络吉隆坡市政局以了解详情。而我们得到的回应是，他们至今还未确认哪个部门需负责有关的清理工作，这令到我们感到不解，并质疑隆市政局的工作效率。"

                对此，民政峇都区部将持续跟进火灾单位的清理工作，确保吉隆坡市政局尽快完成有关工作。

Dominic Lau urges DBKL to clean up as soon as possible

            A unit in the block B of the Sri Kelantan PPR flat, Sentul caught on fire in the last Christmas that caused an Indian family to have lost their home. Under the follow-up by Gerakan Batu Division, the related family has moved into another unit in the same block; however DBKL has yet to clean up the related unit which is affecting the daily lives of the neighbouring units

            Batu Gerakan Service Centre Coordinator Dr. Dominic Lau Hoe Chai pointed out that, residents from the neighbouring units have complained that the two cats owned by the house owner were killed in the fire, however their corpses are still in the ruins and have started to stink which is unbearable. Moreover, the burned down ruins are attracting many flies and the hygiene is in a poor condition. Some even came to the related unit during the night to steal the iron bars that are left after the fire in order to sell over it.

"Once we have received the complaints and made an inspection to the scene, we immediately contacted the DBKL for more details. The reply we received was that up until now they are still unsure which department is responsible for the cleanup works, it is puzzling us and we cannot help but to question the efficiency of the DBKL."

In this regard, Batu Gerakan Division will continue to follow-up the clean up works and to ensure that the DBKL would complete the related works as soon as possible.

Dr. Dominic Lau also added that Gerakan will continue to serve the resident of Batu parliamentary constituency, solve their livelihood problems and improve their quality of life. 

冼都峇都姆德组屋偷窃事件日益严重,民政党允安排隆市局采取应对措施

民政党峇都区部同人走访了冼都峇都姆德(BATU MUDA)人民组屋，与该组屋的居民们会面，以了解他们目前所面对的问题。

参与活动的峇都区民政党服务中心协调员刘华才博士指出，该组屋的居民投诉指C座组屋的绿色接地线遭人偷窃，导致该座组屋的电力不稳定而经常停电。居民担心一旦遇到闪电打雷，若被闪电击中，将破坏屋里的电子器具和用品。虽然居民们已经在几个月前向吉隆坡市政局投诉并要求尽快进行更换，但迟迟未有进一步行动。因此居民们寻求民政党峇都区部的协助，希望能获得吉隆坡市政局关注并解决这项问题。           

                "另外，该座组屋居民也透露，该组屋也面对漏水情况，走廊经常积水，对长者构成危险。除此之外，一些居民也投诉连电梯的空调压缩机也被人盗取，导致电梯经常没有空调，也发生故障。"刘华才表示。

                针对居民们的种种投诉，民政党峇都区将向吉隆坡市政局一一呈报，并尽快采取应对措施，也同时通知当地警方，关注该组屋的偷窃事件日益严重的问题。

            Members of Gerakan Batu Division have visited the Batu Muda PPR flat in Sentul in order to meet with the residents and to understand the problems that they are facing currently.

            Batu Gerakan Service Centre Coordinator Dr. Dominic Lau Hoe Chai pointed out that the flat residents have complained that the green ground wire of the block C has been stolen and caused the flat to endure electrical instability and frequent blackout. The residents are worried that in the event of a lightning strike or thunder, if the flat is struck by lightning it will cause damage to the electronic appliances and accessories. Although the residents have complained to the DBKL a few months ago and asked for swift replacement be made, however no further action has been taken. Therefore, the residents seek the help from Gerakan Batu Division as they hope that the DBKL will pay attention on this problem and solve it.

"In addition, the flat residents also revealed that the flat is also facing water leakage problem, stagnant water was often found along the corridor and pose a danger to the senior citizens. Besides, some residents also complained that the air conditioning compressor for elevator has been stolen which left the elevator with no air conditioning for most of the time, the elevator also broke down often," said Dr. Dominic Lau.        

For all the complaints from the residents, Gerakan Batu Division will reflect each of them to the DBKL Lumpur and take countermeasure as soon as possible, while at the same time the local police will also be informed to pay attention to the theft problem that is getting worse each day.

Dr. Dominic Lau also added that Gerakan will continue to serve the residents of Batu parliamentary constituency, solve their livelihood problems and improve the quality of life.

怡保路分界堤加长工程竣工,舒缓交通与安全

民政党峇都区部早前走访了怡保路4英里半，巡视当地已经完成的加长分界堤工程，以避免许多车辆在错误的U转处U转。

峇都区民政党服务中心协调员刘华才博士指出，他们是11月份接获当地商家的投诉，指当地的道路有一处被误为U转处，导致许多车辆都在该处U转，不仅造成交通阻塞，而且许多车辆在U转时几乎要撞到附近的店面，对商店构成危险。其实正确的U转处是在较前端，但却没有清楚的告示牌，导致许多驾驶者都不晓得，唯有继续使用该处进行U转。

"在接获投诉后，我们将就此事向吉隆坡市政局反映，并要求当局加长分界堤，而隆市政局也将之列入工作行程，如期地将有关工程完成。另外，隆市政局也清楚地竖立U转的告示牌，让驾驶者晓得须驶到较前端的正确U转处才进行U转。我想强调的是，通过居民们的反映和我们的积极跟进，才能让这项工程顺利的完成。"刘华才表示。    

刘华才博士也补充，民政党将持续服务峇都国会选区的居民，并解决他们的民生问题和提高他们的生活素质。

            Gerakan Batu Division had earlier paid a visit to Batu 4½, Jalan Ipoh to inspect the recently completed road divider extension project; it is built to stop the vehicles from making the U-turn at the wrong U-turn point.

            Batu Gerakan Service Centre Coordinator Dr. Dominic Lau Hoe Chai pointed out that they received complaints from the local businessmen who said that one particular section of the local road has been mistaken as a U-turn prompting many vehicles to make illegal U-turns at that point, apart from causing traffic congestion; it also posed a danger to the shops nearby. In fact, the correct U-turn point is located further up ahead, but there was not a clear signboard put in place which led to many motorists unaware and therefore kept on using the same U-turn point.

            "As soon as the complaints were received, we immediately reflected the matter to the DBKL and asked the authority to extend the road divider, while the DBKL also put it into its working list and completed the project as scheduled. Besides, DBKL also erected a clear U-turn signboard so that the motorists are well-informed that the correct U-turn point is located further up ahead on the road in order for them to make a correct U-turn. I wish to stress here that only through the reflection from the residents as well as our follow-up, this project can be successfully completed," said Dr. Dominic Lau.

            Dr. Dominic Lau also added that Gerakan will continue to serve the residents of Batu parliamentary constituency, solve their livelihood problems and improve their quality of life.

民青团2013新年献词

民青团全国总秘书刘华才博士在2012年结束前夕，发表了民青团在2013年的新展望，新方向。告别2012年，迎接2013年的到来，刘博士表示民青团在新的一年将继续朝向政经文教四大方向来全面耕耘，继续为民服务。

回顾过去一年，国内各政党积极为第13届全国大选备战，民政党也不例外。政治上的一些不必要风波须即刻停止，平息纠纷，以人民的利益为依归。正如首相所说的："人民最想看到的是现在和未来的政府能为人民做些什么？"

"以政治为基础的民青团，在2013年将继续迈向成为年轻化、专业化的团体，吸引更多有魄力、有远见和积极的青年加入行列，确保民政党在来届大选能吸引和稳守更多的年轻选票。"刘博士补充说。

马来西亚持有的"多元种族、多元文化与多元宗教"的特色在未来的日子里须继续保留，并发扬光大。这种文化特征也让马来西亚在国际舞台备受瞩目，因此我们谴责反对党以种族课题来捞取政治本钱，反之，相互尊重各自的文化才能真正体现各种族的和谐融洽。

大选的脚步逼近，各政党的大选机制也开始启动。身为国阵的一份子，我们衷心地希望再次获得人民的委托，做好一个全民的政府，秉持一个马来西亚理念，以民为本，绩效为先。

在一个马来西亚的精神下，首相纳吉提倡的团结多元化，异中求同，也强调彼此接纳、相互尊重的重要性。因此我们应该摈弃种族主义，在争取本身的权益之余，也要懂得尊重他人。

但愿新的一年，新的开始。民青团各同仁将继续坚守岗位，做好本份，为栽培马来西亚青年领袖尽上一份力。

            Gerakan Youth Secretary General Dr. Dominic Lau Hoe Chai has announced the Gerakan Youth's new outlook for the year 2013 on the last day of 2012. As he bids farewell to 2012 and welcomes the arrival of 2013, Dr. Dominic Lau said Gerakan Youth will continue to work hard comprehensively in the four main directions of politics, economics, culture and education, continue to serve the people well.

            Throughout this year, political parties in the country have been actively preparing for the GE-13 and Gerakan is with no exception. The unnecessary controversies in politics shall immediately be stopped, to quell the disputes and always keep the interests of the people in mind. As the Prime Minister said: "the people are eager to see what the current and future government is capable of doing for the people?"

            "Gerakan Youth which is politically based will continue to move towards becoming rejuvenated, a professionalized group, attracting more bold, farsighted and positive youth to join the ranks, to ensure that Gerakan will be able to attract more as well as to hold onto the votes of the youth," added Dr. Dominic Lau.

The "multi-racial, multi-cultural and multi-religious" characteristic that held by Malaysia must continue to be retained in the future as well as to flourish it. Such a cultural identity will also enable Malaysia to capture the attention on the global stage. Therefore, we condemn the opposition for playing up the racial issues in order to gain political mileage. On the contrary, mutual respect for each other culture is the proper way to truly reflect the harmony of all races.

The General Election is just around the corner, the election mechanism of each political party has started. As a component party of the Barisan Nasional, we sincerely hope that we will be entrusted by the people once again, to become a government of all people, uphold the 1Malaysia concept, people-first and performance now.

Under the 1Malaysia spirit, the unity of diversification, in search of a common ground, emphasizing mutual acceptance and the importance of mutual respect. Therefore, we should reject racism, in the midst of fighting for own rights, we must also know how to respect the others.
