民政党峇都区部于周二(10月30日) 在增江南区举办了一场"与长者同乐"活动，赠送日用品和红包予60岁以上的乐龄人士，总共有120位长者在这次的活动中受惠。
参与活动的峇都区民政党服务中心协调员刘华才博士指出，在活动开始之前，我们先为所有长者们送上简单的椰浆饭早餐。过后就陆续派送日用品，包括白米、食油、饼干等，再加上一份小红包，所有的长者们都非常开心，并表示感激。
"在活动中，我们也接受一些长者们寻求福利部援助，并为他们提呈申请。另外也有许多长者询问有关第二期一个马来西亚人民援助金(BR1M) 的消息。第二期一个马来西亚人民援助金的申请表格于11月1日正式发放，公众可向民政党峇都区部办事处免费索取，接下来我们也会在峇都区各特定地点安排时间派发申请表格。我也借此希望公众不要花钱购买表格，以免让一些别有居心者趁机牟利。"刘华才表示。
刘华才博士也补充，这也是民政党峇都区部在推广"我爱峇都"计划下所展开的一系列活动之一。民政党将持续服务峇都国会选区的居民，照顾弱势群体，并解决他们的民生问题和提高他们的生活素质。

On last Tuesday (October 30), Gerakan Batu Division held a "Fun with the Elders" activity to donate daily necessities and ang pau to senior citizens aged 60 and above, a total of 120 senior citizens benefited from this activity.
Batu Gerakan Service Center Coordinator Dr. Dominic Lau Hoe Chai who took part in this activity said that prior to the start of the event, at first we served the senior citizens with a simple Nasi Lemak breakfast. Later it was followed by distribution of daily necessities, including rice, cooking oil, biscuits as well as a small ang pau to each of them, all the senior citizens were very happy and grateful.
"In this event, we also accepted the plea from some of the senior citizens who sought the assistance from Welfare Department and we helped them to make an application. Besides, quite a few of them asked about the information for BR1M 2.0. The application form for BR1M 2.0 will be distributed starting on 1 November. The public can obtain the application form for free from the Gerakan Batu Division office, next we will also distribute the form in a few specific locations around Batu at an arranged time. I would like to take this opportunity to remind the public not to spend their money to buy the form, to avoid allowing those who have bad intentions to take this opportunity and make a profit," said Dr. Dominic Lau.
Dr. Dominic Lau also added that this is one in a series of activities carried out under the "I Love Batu" plan which Gerakan Batu Division has been promoting. Gerakan would continue to serve the residents of Batu parliament constituency, care for the disadvantaged groups and solve their livelihood problems as well as to improve their quality of life.
