民政党安排峇都花园组屋居民与水供公司对话会,全面协调解决问题


上周五(928日)民政党峇都区部在冼都峇都花园(Taman Batu)组屋区,安排了一场居民和水供公司代表的对话会,以便了解目前当地居民所面对的水费问题       
                参与活动的刘华才博士指出,他们是在919日收到该组屋区居民的投诉,指负责管理该组屋区的管理委员会,向居民们无理征收水费。根据了解,该管理委员会没有依据水表纪录,每个月向每一所组屋单位一律征收大约40零吉左右的水费,这对那些少用水的住户来说似乎有欠公平。因此,居民们寻求民政党峇都区的协助,希望无需通过管理委员会,能够直接缴付水费给水供公司。
"对此,民政党峇都区部即时联络了水供公司,商讨居民们直接缴付水费的可行性,同时安排了这一场对话会。通过对话会,水供公司同意只要各组屋单位的水表符合水供公司制订的规格,并获得80巴仙的居民同意,居民们就可以直接缴付水费给水供公司。"刘华才补充。
"另外,其实我们发现一些组屋单位的水表是不符合水供公司设定的规格的,但我们将安排居民们尽快进行更换,因为根据水供公司代表指出,更换符合规格的水表,水费将会来得比较便宜,而且一切有关水表的投诉也将会受理。"刘华才补充。
刘华才博士也补充,这也是民政党峇都区针对居民们所面对的民生问题而展开的后续工作。民政党将持续服务峇都国会选区的居民,解决他们的生活起居问题,并提高他们的生活素质。

            Last Friday (28 September), Gerakan Batu Division organised a dialogue session between the residents and water supply company in the Sentul Taman Batu flat area.
            Gerakan Youth Secretary General Dr. Dominic Lau who participated the dialogue session pointed out that they had earlier received a complaint from the residents of the flat area on 19 September, claiming that they were imposed with unreasonable water charges by the management committee that manage the flat area. It is understood that the management committee were collecting about RM40 water charges from each flat unit without referring to the water meter. This is unfair to families which only use a small amount of water. Therefore, the residents have sought help from Gerakan as they hoped to pay the water bill directly to the water supply company without through the management committee.
            "In this regard, Gerakan Batu Division immediately contacted the water supply company and discussed the possibility for the residents to pay the water bill directly, at the same time we also held a dialogue session. Through the dialogue, the water supply company agreed as long as the water meter follows the standards stipulated by the water company and 80% of the residents are agreed, the residents will be able to pay their water bill directly to the water supply company," said Dr. Dominic Lau.
            "Besides, we also discovered that the water meter of some flat units do not follow the standards as stipulated by the water supply company, but we will arrange the residents to change it as soon as possible, because according to the representatives of the water supply company as he pointed out, the water charges would be cheaper on a new water meter that meets the standards, furthermore, any complaints that are related to water meter will be attended," added Dr. Dominic Lau.
            Dr. Dominic Lau also added that this is the follow-up work by Gerakan Batu Division regarding the livelihood problems faced by the residents. Gerakan would continue to serve the residents of Batu parliamentary constituency, solve their problems and improve their quality of life.
