民政党刘华才安排捐赠轮椅, 峇都区两户人家受惠


上周日930日)国大党联邦直辖区布特拉青年团(MIC Putera)于吉隆坡举办了一场捐赠轮椅给弱势群体的活动,而在民政党峇都区部的跟进和安排下,峇都区共有两户贫苦家庭在这一项活动中获得受惠。  
参与活动的民青团总秘书刘华才博士表示,其中一家受惠的家庭就是民政党峇都区部一直以来给予协助的冼都斯里吉兰丹人民组屋区的一户华裔赤贫家庭。这一户华裔家庭生活非常贫苦,家中共有4名孩子,包括一名刚出生的婴孩。父亲只是一名散工,母亲则靠卖彩票赚取一些生计,家中还有一名年迈的老祖母,每日三餐有时都没有着落。大儿子也因此被逼辍学。
"当时探访这户人家时更发现他们家里因没有钱缴付电费而被割电,已经几个月没有电流供应了。这不仅带来许多不便,也影响到小孩们温习功课。至今民政党峇都区部除了解决了这户人家的电费问题,也协助他们申请福利部援助金,以改善他们目前的生活。而年迈的老祖母也获得一张免费的轮椅,同时我们也成功协助让大儿子回到学校上课,继续升学。刘华才指出。  
另外,刘华才也补充,这也是民政党峇都区针对居民们所面对的生活问题而展开的后续工作。民政党将持续服务峇都国会选区的居民,照顾弱势群体,解决他们的民生问题,并提高他们的生活素质。

            Last Sunday (30 September), Kuala Lumpur Federal Territory MIC Youth (MIC Putera) organised an activity in Kuala Lumpur to donate wheelchairs to the disadvantaged groups, under the arrangement by Gerakan Batu Division, 2 poor families from Batu area were benefited in this activity.
            Gerakan Youth Secretary General Dr. Dominic Lau who attended the activity said that one of the benefited families which is a hardcore poor Chinese family living in the Sri Kelantan PPR flat at Sentul has been constantly helped by Gerakan Batu Division. They live in an abject poverty, there are 4 children including a newborn baby in the family. The father is an odd-job worker, while the mother earns a living through the selling of lottery tickets, moreover there is an elderly grandmother in the family, at times it would even be difficult for them to have ordinary 3 meals per day, their eldest son has since forced to drop out of school.
            "During our visit to the familiy, we found out that the electricity has been cut off for months, because the electricity bills have not been paid. The situation not just caused a lot of inconveniences but also affected the children's academic revision. So far, Gerakan Batu Division managed to solve the electricity problem for this family and helped them to apply for welfare assistance in order to improve their living at the present, while the elderly grandmother was given a free wheelchair. At the same time, we also managed to help the eldest son to return to school and continue his studies," said Dr. Dominic Lau.
            Besides, Dr. Dominic Lau also added that these are the follow-up works by Gerakan Batu Division pertaining to the livelihood problems faced by the residents. Gerakan will continue to serve the residents of Batu parliamentary constituency, take care of the disadvantaged groups, solve their livelihood problems and improve their quality of life.
